CANNES
Cannes is famous for its annual film festival, the magnificent beaches, great hotels and for being the meeting place for the rich and famous. It is full of colours, and you could never get bored of it.
The city, which is located by the French Riviera in the southern part of the country, has nearly 75.000 inhabitants, but that number multiplies in the peak season of vacations, which is from early June to late September.
In general, Cannes has unseasonably mild weather, and the temperature rarely goes below 10-12 degrees Celcius in the daytime.
The world-famous film festival is held in May, but the city is also known for its annual yacht festival in September.
If you are in the mood for more experiences at Côte d’Azur, Monaco, Monte Carlo and Nice are accessible by car and are all wonderful destinations to visit.
With a private jet you have the opportunity to land in the smaller airport Cannes-Mandelieu located just five kilometres south of Cannes, meaning that you are close to your destination from the moment you land.
A fun fact is that Christian X of Denmark was an honorary citizen in Cannes, and you can still see a statue of the former Danish king on a small square close to the water.
